KARLHEINZ WEINBERGER

A self-taught photographer, Weinberger began his artistic career taking pictures of friends, lovers and people on the street. His late 1950s / early 1960s works focus on denim, whose scarcity in post-war Switzerland (and Europe) set its status as a badge of differentiation and rebellion. His gaze, between casual observation and fetish, is a big influence on Ouest.
