This season Ouest Paris dreams of Californian beaches, warm nights and space travel.

Arthur Robert draws on a 70’s imagery, when American hopes were focused on NASA. The technical fabrics and inflated volumes of an aerospace workwear, the sun setting on golden surfing jackets. The rise of surf culture on the southwestern coast of France, Kids dreaming of California in a conservative era, chinos and mohair knits shaken by a West Coast wave.

Denim is still a common thread, it’s organic or recycled. Flared jeans and pieces in vegan leather remind of New York’s 70’s gay scene. A series of prints by artist Jack Rothert Garcia is drawn from the fetish gay press of the time and plastered on formal shirts like cryptic mantras.

Sneakers and straps, seashell fetish and words torn out of old magazines - watching the world turning from somewhere else.
